There really is no us in Tropical Tennis Wear.  There is only me if you don't count my two Maltese dogs, Kimo and Hoku, and my husband.  There are four in the family, but three don't sew.

I was active in league tennis in Northern California.  When we retired to Kauai in 2001, I found a year-round tennis environment.

In 2004 I made my first tropical print tennis skirt just for me.  I got lots of compliments and requests from my tennis friends to make similar skirts for them.  Soon I had more requests for skirts than making them as a hobby could produce.

With support from my husband and dogs, I bought a top quality sewing machine and went into business.  I currently have skirts available in many pro shops in Hawaii and some on the mainland:  Kiahuna swim and Tennis Club, Poipu Kai Tennis Club,  Kauai Hyatt Tennis Garden, Royal Lahiana Tennis Shop, Kapalua Tennis Garden, Spanish Bay Tennis Pro Shop on Pebble Beach, Ca., Kailua Tennis Hut, Oahu, and Kohala Tennis Club, Big Island.

Since I am the only employee at the Tropical Tennis Wear, I get to do it all, from choosing the bright tropical prints to cutting and sewing each individual skirt.  I also get to ensure that every skirt passes my personal inspection before I'll offer it for sale.
